Exciting Tunable Dark Resonances in Plasmonic Nano-Crosses

Abstract


Localized surface plasmon resonances in gold nano-cross geometries are studied numerically using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. It is shown that two- and three-armed crosses sustain pronounced dark multipolar resonances tunable by changing arm angle and length. When coupled to a gold slab subradiant modes and Fano interferences appear.
